I made this popsicle melt. I couldn’t figure out how to work the intervalometer on the camera, so I stood beside the little dude for an hour with a space heater blowing over us, manually popping the shutter every 10 seconds or so. I condensed 311 images into about 10 seconds. I thought at a certain juncture—a mythical mathematical impasse—the popsicle would break open and flood the plate with its colors; that its ruin would enter a quick & luscious phase of exponential melt. Alas, the key lime block of ice was good and frozen, and sank slowly, and sadly, while I haunted it from just above, nibbling carrots and hummus, gawking at its tenacity. I bit my lip pretty hard twice while snacking. All for, in the end, a cliche of time lapse photography. Well.
