NSOMN, it’s not very scary in the daylight. But at night it is, with its desperate hunger and heat. Emptied, crawling around its innards, the kiln is strangely sacral. The catenary arch gives it that affect—also the echoing. The fine layer of ash is something to be reckoned with.
